AKACT NATIONAL ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION 2020

 ASGAR KHAN ADVOCATE CHARITABLE TRUST NATIONAL ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION 2020
About the Essay Competition-The objective of the essay writing competition is to bring out the creative writing talent of students and researchers  across the country on contemporary and trending topics of the present scenario.Eligiblity-The Competition shall be open for the students currently pursuing and completed their Bachelor’s Degree in law i.e. 3-Year LL.B. course or 5-Year LL.B. course from any recognized university/school in India.Competition is open for all students or professionals pursuing/completed Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in/from any recognized University across the country.Competition is also open for students of 10+2 across the country. Co-authorship: up-to two authors are permitted.

  • Individual participation, as well as participation in a team of two i.e. co-authorship, is allowed.
  • There is no restriction on the number of entries from any college or university.
  • All essays must be in English only.

Essay Topics-

  • COVID-19 and its Socio-Legal impact.
  • Shall there be any provision of Medical Emergency in the Constitution of India?
  • Does Anti-Defection Law require strict implementation?
  • Outspread of COVID-19 and its effect on world economy.

Prizes- 1st Prize – E-Certificate of Excellence + Cash Prize + Publication of Essay 2nd Prize – E-Certificate of Excellence + Cash Prize + Publication of Essay 3rd Prize – E-Certificate of Excellence + Cash Prize + Publication of Essay Shortlisted essays will be published online. Certificate of Merit would be awarded to the best five participants. Certificate of Participation will be given to all the participants. An E-Certificate of Participation will be sent to all the participants after the successful declaration of the results.  How to submit-All essays must be sent as MS Word files Essays should be submitted by mail at - akact1812@gmail.com Submission guidelines-Essays can be submitted either in Hindi or English Language  Word limit – Minimum 1500 words & Maximum 3000 words (Including footnotes).Any political or communal content and/or comment shall be disqualified with immediate effect.

  • Format –The submission can be made in both (a) “doc. or docx.” and (b) “PDF” format.
  • Font Style– Times New Roman.
  • Font size- 12 for text, 14 for Headings, 10 for footnotes.
  • Line Spacing- 1.5.
  • Alignment- Justified and layout must be A4 size.
  • The citation methodology to be followed is Harvard Bluebook (19th Edition).
  • All the write-ups must be original work of the author(s) and must not be published anywhere else or must not be under consideration for publication anywhere else.
  • Participants are requested not to copy & paste the bare provisions & case laws.

Important Dates-Last Date of Registration: 16th April 2020 Last Date of Submission:27th April 2020 Announcement of Result: 30th April 2020No submission will be accepted after the last date of submission.Registration fees-All participants have to register themselves with the required registration fee of Rs. 100/- only, on or before 16 April 2020. The co-authors will have to register with fees of Rs.150/-.The registration fee should be submitted online on the contact no.-9461239898 by any mode of online payment.(We are available on- Paytm,PhonePe,Google Pay,Bhim UPI,Amazon Pay)NOTE: Registration fee is not refundable at all costs.
